How Corner handles information for you and your children.
1. Who runs Corner
Corner is a private, family-run website. It is not a commercial service and does not sell data or show advertising.
2. What we collect
- Parent accounts: the email address that was invited, a username, a display name, and a password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Kid accounts: a username, a display name, and a password hash. We do not ask children for an email address or other personal contact details.
- Content: the HTML, CSS, posts, and images that account holders choose to create and upload.
- Basic server logs such as request times, needed to run and secure the site.
3. How we use it
Information is used only to operate the site: to sign you in, to show each child's page at their address, and to keep the site working and safe. We do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties, except as needed to host the site or if required by law.
4. Children's privacy
Corner is designed for children to use with a parent's consent and supervision. A parent creates and controls each child's account. Because a child's page can be viewed at their web address, please guide your children not to post personal information such as their full name, address, school, or phone number.
5. Keeping and deleting data
Content and accounts are kept until they are deleted. A parent can delete a child's account at any time from the Family page, which removes that child's pages, posts, and uploaded images. To delete a parent account, contact the site owner.
6. Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, and kid-authored pages are shown in a sandboxed frame that cannot run scripts. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage strong, unique passwords.
